growing up in new england, wendy began her studies at danforth museum of art and continued her art courses throughout college. drawn to color theory and experimenting with different media her portfolio expands from watercolor, charcoal, pastel, acrylics, to photgraphy. her popular monochromatic pieces are uniquely textured giving a landscape effect. works have been selected for the Marriott Residence Inn permanent collection, WGBH fine art auction + gallery shows as well as over eighty private collections.
the recollection of places wendy has been and how the landscape has affected her is t.h.e. inspiration: coastal living and an industrial concrete life intertwined. hidden metallic and roughness among the calming sea is reflected in her work. since boating on the jagged east coast, horizons have been captured in her mind + are ever changing with each journey that is taken.
sustainability is shown in wendy's latest textured acrylics. these eco-friendly works are layers of horizons, clouds and soft sea storms. being environmentally conscious has always been incorporated in wendy’s art. by using greenguard gold certified (for low chemical emissions UL 2818) acrylic paint in this series she continues this practice. wendy hopes the viewer takes a moment to imagine taking a step into each piece and visualize what the infinite horizon is today and will imminently be.
